PRESS

Exciting new developments at Hardcat world-wide.

Hardcat's reputation for technical advancement and business success is such that we're regularly appearing in the world's newspapers, or being reviewed in important industry journals. Here are a few items taken from our scrapbook over the last decade which we hope will give a good idea of how we have provided solutions for all kinds of organisations around the world.

Hardcat International Developments
August 2007
Scott Longden, Executive VP of International Operations, has recently wrapped up another tour of Hardcat's International operations, calling on some major clients in the UK, Continental Europe, and the Middle East.

Hardcat's push into Africa continues to gather pace. Hardcat is now the standard asset management solution for Government at all levels in South Africa, from municipalities to the Office of the President. The product has been extremely well received and its popularity is expanding throughout the continent. Hardcat is also pleased to announce the appointment of Al Maha Tech as a new partner in Sudan, further complementing our worldwide network of expert partners.

Celebrating the launch of the Australian Synchrotron
August 2007
On 31st July 2007, the new Australian Synchrotron, a high-powered particle accelerator, went into production. This $220 million dollar scientific facility, one of only a handful around the world, assists scientists in many fields of investigation, ranging from developing potential cures for cancer through to developing means of storing hydrogen fuels, using a high powered particle accelerator.

Hardcat has played a key role in the construction of the Synchrotron. The Victorian Department of Infrastructure which built the facility contacted Hardcat at the time it was commencing construction. They required a solution to accurately track the plethora of components that would soon be procured for building into the Synchrotron. This would provide them with a highly accurate and detailed inventory of all components making up the facility.

Hardcat for Aged Care facility management
August 2007
During July, Hardcat participated in the highly successful Aged Care seminar held in Melbourne, Australia.

With the proportion of the population in aged care on the rise worldwide and with increasingly legislation and compliance requirements for operators of aged care facilities, Hardcat's capability to manage all assets in a facility and ensure they are in good working order, is a highly valued quality.

The Hardcat solution was highly regarded by seminar attendees and we look forward to expanding our already sizeable presence as a quality solution provider in this industry.

Hardcat expands African presence
July 2007
The Hardcat solution, which has already been an outstanding success throughout dozens of South African government agencies, is set to be rolled out to a range of businesses throughout the African continent. A recent visit by Hardcat's VP of International Operations, Scott Longden, saw a number of seminars on fixed asset management held and a number of new agents for the Hardcat product appointed.

"We believe this asset management product will be beneficial in combating theft and corruption in many companies and governmental institutions in Africa," explained Longden.
The Hardcat product has attracted considerable interest in both press and online publications, such as a story recently featured in IT Web.

Hardcat meets world's fastest cat - While in Kenya, VP of International Operations Scott Longden took time out to visit a cheetah at the Nairobi National Park. Fortunately for Scott, the cheetah had just been fed.

Hardcat implements multi-currency support in Purchasing Module
June 2007
Hardcat's Purchasing Module has recently been expanded to facilitate a multi-currency procurement capability. This will be of great benefit to a number of Hardcat users who may purchase goods (whether assets or consumables) from different countries in different currencies.

Purchasing, invoicing and payment can be handled in a foreign currency, and the asset when delivered will have its value recorded in the corresponding local currency, using the exchange rate in effect at the time. Naturally, the solution allows easy update of exchange rates (including via data import) so the user does not need to check this detail at the time of processing the Purchase Order.

This feature and a range of other enhancements to the Hardcat product will be made available with the new Hardcat 3.27B release which is currently undergoing final testing.

Hardcat's Q1 2007 sales set new record!
April 2007
Hardcat has just celebrated its strongest quarterly performance yet, with sales revenues for the three months ending 31 March 2007 up over 100% against the same period last year. As well as a strong performance in each of its key markets in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, Hardcat solutions were also implemented in businesses as far afield as Brunei, Kenya, Qatar, Japan, South Africa, and UAE.

Hardcat's Managing Director Dan Drum is quick to point out that the increase is not by luck or coincidence, but a concerted restructure, expansion and process improvement that began back in mid-2006. The emphasis is on greater responsiveness to customer requirements, both for new and existing customers.

As part of its expansion and restructure, Hardcat has appointed Mr Andrew Johnson as its Sales Director, and Mr Scott Longden as Executive Vice President International Operations. Andrew and Scott have brought with them a wealth of experience, and Hardcat looks forward to continued progress with our expanded team of people.

Hardcat reliability proven again
April 2007
In last month's newsletter, we wrote of how Hardcat was implemented by the British Ministry of Defence to track assets in war zones, and how the decision to purchase Hardcat was based on its rock-solid reliability.

This month, we have heard that Al Furat Petroleum, a highly successful petroleum company based in Syria purchased and installed Hardcat seven years ago. Little did we know that for seven years, with no assistance or technical support from Hardcat, Al Furat Petroleum have been successfully completing thousands of asset additions, disposals and help desk transactions. The only reason Al Furat Petroleum contacted Hardcat was to investigate some of the new and exciting features we have to offer. Again Al Furat Petroleum's experience reinforces Hardcat's rock-solid reliability.

Hardcat tracks assets at FINA World Swimming Championships
March 2007
The recent use by Victoria Police of the Hardcat fixed asset management solution at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the G-20 Economic Forum has been highly successful, with the solution keeping accurate tracking of various assets associated with the security for these major events.

March 2007 sees the FINA World Swimming Championships come to Melbourne. The Hardcat solution has once again been selected as the asset management solution of choice for this major event. Hardcat is being used for fast, highly accurate tracking of the issue and return of various items ranging from communication equipment to security passes.

Using the rugged Hardcat client/server application in conjunction with quality Symbol LS series scanners, Victoria Police are able to issue equipment to personnel by simply scanning the ID card of the personnel and the barcode affixed to the equipment.

CPA Asset Management seminar to feature Shell
March 2007
March 2007 - CPA Australia will be running a series of seminars entitled "Asset Accounting and Management" in major capital cities through April. Shell's Asset Manager Hadi Ishak, who utilises Hardcat software to manage Shell's various retail assets, will be a guest speaker.

Shell, a SAP user, elected to use Hardcat to physically audit and barcode their asset base Australia-wide. Hadi will be explaining how Hardcat enabled Shell to save millions of dollars by firstly cataloguing their asset base and then using this information in the sale of assets no longer required. Hadi will also explain how Hardcat allowed the granularity not available in the SAP assets management module to carry our the comprehensive audit & data capture.
