NEWS & PRESS

Exciting new developments at Hardcat world-wide.

Hardcat's reputation for technical advancement and business success is such that we're regularly appearing in the world's newspapers, or being reviewed in important industry journals. Multi-language capability
2008-06-01

With Hardcat users in more than forty countries worldwide, it was only natural that Hardcat would implement a multi-lingual solution. The new Hardcat web interface will enable users to log in with a given language preference, and present them with menu options and field names that are in their local language. This will make it even easier to roll Hardcat out through an enterprise, including an organisation that spans many countries!

New GPS capability for Hardcat
2008-06-01

Knowing exactly where your assets are has just become a whole lot easier with the new GPS capabilities of Hardcat.

While Hardcat has always allowed those in an office environment to know the precise location of an asset by room number or network point within an office, some of our users need to track items that are quite literally “out in the field”. Hardcat, in conjunction with our partners at Microsoft, has developed a further enhancement of Hardcat to locate assets by GPS coordinates and represent their location on a map.

How many parts make up a Synchrotron?
2005-09-27

The team at the Australian Synchrotron Project will have an exact answer to this question, as they have recently implemented Hardcat to individually track all components currently being built into the new third-generation 3Gev synchrotron at Clayton, Victoria.

The new synchrotron is a world-leading science facility being built by the Victorian Government to significantly boost the research efforts of scientists across a range of disciplines. When completed, responsibility for the day-to-day management of the facility will be handed over to an independent operator. It is essential that a detailed inventory of all components used in this complex device be provided to them for ongoing asset management.

The Hardcat solution has allowed the Australian Synchrotron Project to barcode and data capture all asset items at the time of delivery and track their installation and operation. Exact details of current location, product configuration, supplier details and audit history will be available on-screen at the touch of a button or in any number of detailed reports.

Hardcat represents a state-of-the-art component tracking solution for a state-of-the-art research facility.
